EBF conference

On Friday, April 24, 2009, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, at the church of the Open Door, European Baptist Fellowship held their mission's conference. Pastor Merton Bobo was elected as the new president of EBF and Brother Bill Owen as vice president.

Brother Curt Swank from La Porte, Indiana, was voted and accepted as a new board member.

It was a wonderful time of fellowship, a time to be refreshed in our goals and commitments to spread the Gospel of our Lord and Saviour.

We were blessed having Dr. Marlon Fletchall, longtime member of EBF, lead the morning Bible studies in the book of Ecclesiastes.

We heard from our missonaries how God is using them to reach Europe -the tactics that have been laid in place and the strategies that are forthcoming.

Robert Frye is reporting on how God has been using him in the camp ministry and his goals for the camp as a future training center for christian service workers and pastors.

Matthew Walker is showing here places he has been working in different areas of Europe and explaining the many doors of opportunity to share the Gospel of Christ.

Statement of Faith

Statement of Faith
European Baptist Fellowship believes and maintains the following Biblical truths:
1. Inspiration of the Bible: We believe in the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired of God and inerrant in the original writings. They are the supreme and final authority in faith and practice, the supreme and final authority in faith and life.
2. God: We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is not only eternal in His being, but also absolute in His attributes and glorious in His perfection.
3. Jesus Christ: We believe in the virgin birth of Christ, His deity and sinless life, His vicarious death, along with His bodily resurrection and ascension, and in His personal pre-millennium return.
4. Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit is the divine agent in nature, revelation and redemption; that we receive the Holy Spirit at conversion, and at that moment the Holy Spirit seals, anoints and indwells the believer.
5. Man: We believe that man was created in the image of God and by choice disobeyed the revealed will of God, became sinful and lost. Man became the father of a fallen race, which is universally sinful in nature and practices as well as being alienated from God, therefore placing himself under the righteous judgment and wrath of God. He has within himself no possible means of salvation.
6. Salvation: We believe the only way of salvation for sinners is wholly of grace through faith in the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. That it is impossible for one born into the family of God to ever be lost again.
7. Church: We believe the “invisible church”, the Body of Christ, includes all those born-again, regardless of country. We believe in the gathering of believers in a local situation, practicing New Testament principles, believing its doctrines, observing its ordinances and exercising its autonomy. The local, visible church is to be separate from the State but obedient to it except when to obey the law of the state means to be disobedient to the Word of God.
8. Satan: We believe in the personality and malignity of Satan. That he opposes God and His divine plan and that Satan seeks to destroy the souls of men.
9. We believe the symbolical significance of the two Christian ordinances to be administered according to the instruction given by the Lord in His word;
A) Baptism- immersion of believers only, prerequisite to church membership,
individual testimony of the union of the believer with Christ in His death and resurrection.
B) The Lord’s Supper-commemorative of our Lord’s death, collective testimony of the unity of the local body and to the necessity of union with Christ for spiritual growth, its observance to be preceded by faithful self-examination.
10. The necessity of maintaining the purity of the local churches in doctrine and life,
according to the Word of God, as far as it is possible.

POLICIES OF EUROPEAN BAPTIST FELLOWSHIP

POLICIES OF EUROPEAN BAPTIST FELLOWSHIP
Purpose:
A) To live and minister by faith.
B) To preach the Gospel, establish local New Testament churches, to train church leaders, to teach life skills to young people (especially orphans).
C) To always be open to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Organization:
A) This corporation shall be governed by the executive officers with the aid of the advisory board.
B) Officers shall consist of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and European Field Director.
C) The executive council consists of the officers (see B) plus any council member who is available to attend.
D) The entire board shall be notified as to date, location and purpose of a specifically called meeting.
Financial Policies
A) The faith-principle consists simply of looking to God and claiming His promises that He will provide all our needs.
B) The missionary must secure his own funds for any and all of his/her needs.
C) EBF does not set any monthly amount. However, the missionary is informed of the absolute minimum that he needs to exist in the country to which he is called.
EBF expects the missionary to live on the same economical level of the people to whom he is ministering.
D) Being a small mission we do not provide retirement, health insurance, furlough funds, etc. However, a missionary is at liberty to raise enough income to include such.
E) Each year the missionary is to submit to the council his annual budget.
F) A missionary cannot go into debt without the permission of the Executive Board members' permission. This is especially true due to the fact that EBF has no assets.
Standards of Conduct
EBF is committed to maintaining a public testimony entirely consistent with the ethical demands and implications of the gospel message articulated in the Scripture. To this end, the conduct of the missionary should be governed and controlled by the Word of God. EBF does not presume to act as a censoring agency for all activities, especially matters of conscience. However, it does expect discernible evidence of maturing Christian convictions and wise biblical discretion. Accordingly, missionaries are to exercise biblical discernment and thereby refrain and abstain from all activities that would have the appearance of evil or be morally compromising.
EBF reserves the right to dismiss a missionary who, in its judgment, does not comply with the above principles of conduct.
Church Membership
1. To be accepted, a missionary must be a member of a local church.
2. Wherever possible a missionary should fellowship with the local church in the area where he is working. If there is none, he should start one. This means the missionary would have dual membership. A. Home church in USA B. The local church in the area he is ministering.
